Markus und Arnim

Für die, die uns noch nicht  kennen,  zwei Flugbegeisterte tun sich zusammen, um den fliegerischen Olymp, die Weltumrundung gemeinsam anzugehen.  Von uns beiden kann Arnim Stief in die fliegerische Trickkiste greifen - ATP, zahlreiche Überführungsflüge über den Nordatlantik, mehreretausende Flugstunden, während Markus Henkell mit seiner schnellen Lancair 360 zwar auch mit IFR und CPL glänzen kann, aber seine 1400  Stunden im wesentlichen unter Sichtbedingungen erflogen hat.

Gemeinsam teilen wir das Schicksal schwer von fliegerischen Virus befallen worden zu sein. 10 Stunden im Cockpit zu sitzen  und unter uns eine fremde Landschaft vorbeiziehen zu lassen,  davon können wir (noch) nicht genug bekommen. Mit dem Flug um die Erde wollen  wir zum einen den Speck essen, solange wir noch Zähne haben, aber es geht auch darum uns und allen anderen Menschen, die uns mit Interesse zuschauen, zu  zeigen, daß Ziele, die zunächst schwierig und verrückt erscheinen,  durch  Vorbereitung (hoffentlich gut genug) Schritt für Schritt erreicht werden  können.

For those who do not know  us, we are two flight enthusiasts joining  together to climb the Zenith of aviation dreams - flying around the world. From the two of us, Arnim Stief is  the one who can rely on his magic box - ATP, numerous Northatlantic ferry  flights, and several thousands flying time. Markus Henkell with his fast Lancair 360 could be proud of his IFR and CPL however, most of his 1400 flight time are  done under VFR conditions.

Together we share the  destiny of being infected with the “flying virus”. We just cannot (not yet) get  enough from sitting ten hours in the cockpit seeing beneath us the different  unknown  landscapes passing by.  With this trip around the world, we would like,  not only to eat the ham while we still have our teeth (a German saying) but  to  show ourselves and the people who are interested in  what we are doing,  that  aims however difficult and crazy they might seem to be, could be realized step by step  through tedious preparation (hopefully good enough)!
